If I don't get some kind of fix I'll have to either roll back to an earlier version or find a different audio editor, because it's infuriating to be met with a series of senseless error messages each complete with dull thud when I just cut and Paste-New. And I repeat that I never had this problem on previous versions of GoldWave.

I need to be able to both open more than 8 windows and zoom right in. Unchecking "Fix damaged FPU state" got rid of this problem. It was not possible to regain control, I had to close it via Task Manager, losing all unsaved work. Repeatedly I tried to zoom in to select and cut between different points at that scale, and GoldWave jammed. but at the expense of preventing zooming in beyond a certain level of scale (1000ths of a second). If I check "Fix damaged FPU state" in the Setup it does seem to remove the Invalid floating point operation error. Any help you can give would be much appreciated. AFAIK my case has nothing to do with GSM, just editing WAV files produced from recording streaming. I find it especially annoying that this keeps happening since I recently paid for Goldwave for the first time and got the latest version, and this error didn't happen before. I was heading towards the end of listening to and cutting up a 3-hour-long file, and if I have to close Goldwave (via Task Manager) and start again all that work will be lost. This means I can't get at the windows to save them or do anything else.

Instead they are gradually being added to. Right now Goldwave is jammed with a big cascade of this error message, and clicking on "OK" doesn't work to remove them. IIRC the error has never come up with fewer than 8 windows. The error can still arise with more than 8 windows active, but I have found in the past that it sometimes goes away if I save one of them straight away rather than waiting till the end of editing. Sometimes I get a cascade of these error boxes, with accompanying noise, as Goldwave is redrawing all the windows, for instance due to a new Paste-New. I've noticed this error comes up when I have 8 windows active, of which one is the parent of all the others (producing them by Cutting and Paste-New) and is not fully Selected. I tried the above instruction, but whatever it does it just ends up opening a new instance of GoldWave and not touching the one that's running in which the error has occurred.
